Privacy policy
Who we are
This policy covers pokelit.org, an independent PokéLit guide. The contact address is [email protected]. The game at pokelit.0d4y.cc is a different site with its own operator and is not covered here. We do not sell personal data and we do not run a login, a newsletter or a payment form.
What loads by default, and how to turn it off
Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, the Adsterra Native Banner and the Adsterra Social Bar are requested on the first page view. The banner is notice plus withdrawal, not a gate: a visitor who has not chosen is treated as granted, and the banner stays visible until Accept or Reject is pressed. Pressing Reject stops and removes these integrations on this page and stores “rejected” for 180 days, so later page visits do not request them. Pressing Accept stores “accepted” and keeps them on. Cookie settings in the footer reopens the banner so the choice can be changed.
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is honoured as a refusal: if the browser sends it, the site stores “rejected” and does not load Google Analytics, Clarity or Adsterra for that visitor. Do Not Track is not a reliable signal in every browser; GPC is the signal this site implements.
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 measurement ID G-51NJLFNXJ9 loads by default through www.googletagmanager.com and sends measurements to google-analytics.com. It processes the page URL, referrer, device information and interaction events; the connection also exposes an IP address to Google. Its cookie names include _ga and _ga_51NJLFNXJ9, with vendor-controlled expiry. Purpose: count visits and see which guides are read. The property retention setting is not asserted here. Google’s policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Reject sets analytics_storage to denied, disables this measurement ID and reloads the document without the Google loader. Later visits with a remembered rejection make no GA4 request.
Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity project z86q5fanls builds aggregate heatmaps and session recordings of clicks, scrolling and page layout. Clarity documents first-party cookies _clck (user identifier and preferences) and _clsk (session grouping). Its documented third-party cookies are CLID (first-seen identifier), ANONCHK (an identifier-transfer signal), MR (identifier refresh), MUID (browser identifier) and SM (identifier synchronisation). These are vendor-documented names, not a claim that every cookie is set on every visit. Expiry depends on vendor settings; no unverified lifetime is asserted here. Microsoft controls retention on its own systems; its privacy statement is at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. Purpose: understand where readers get stuck. Control: requested by default; Reject withdraws permission in this browser. Reject revokes Clarity permission, reloads the page to end the active recording, and blocks the tag on later visits.
Adsterra advertising
Advertising is served by Adsterra (Adsterra Network LP) through its delivery host bicea.org. Two placements run: a Native Banner, unit 32084156 (NativeBanner_1), in the content column, and a Social Bar, unit 32084157 (SocialBar_1), the strip fixed at the bottom of the viewport. Neither script tag is in the HTML we send: both are created by page script on the first page view unless a remembered Reject or GPC blocks them, so a rejected visit requests nothing from bicea.org. Adult advertising is switched off at the Adsterra website level, and no popunder, interstitial or Smartlink format runs here.
Once loaded, Adsterra receives your IP address, the page URL, referrer, user agent and viewport size, and may set its own cookies or local storage on bicea.org and on creative hosts for frequency capping, impression counting and interest-based advertising. Cookie and storage names, availability and expiry are controlled by Adsterra and its delivery partners and can vary by creative; this policy does not assert an unverified cookie inventory or lifetime. Adsterra controls retention on its own domains. Purpose: pay for the guide. Control: requested by default; Reject withdraws permission in this browser. Its policy and data-subject route are at https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/.
YouTube
Video pages show a picture hosted on this site. The privacy-enhanced YouTube player (www.youtube-nocookie.com) is created only after you press that picture, so no YouTube request is made on a normal page view. When you press play, YouTube receives your IP address, browser and device information, referrer and request time, and may use cookies or device storage under Google’s retention rules. Privacy-enhanced mode is not a promise of no processing or no ads. Purpose: show a cited public video. Legal basis: your consent, given by the play click. Google’s policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy and YouTube’s terms at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. There is no other video host, no traffic-mesh script and no second ad network on this site.
Storage keys we write ourselves
Key pokelit_consent in local storage. Value: { choice: "accepted" or "rejected", at, exp }, where exp is 180 days after the choice. Purpose: remember the banner decision. Legal basis: consent for the stored choice, and a legitimate interest in not asking on every page view during those 180 days.
Key pokelit-ad-bar-closed in local storage. Value: "1". Purpose: keep the Adsterra Social Bar closed after you close it, so it does not reappear on the next page or after a refresh. It is set when you use the bar’s close control or the footer’s Hide ad bar button, and cleared when you press Accept again or clear site data. Legal basis: your request to hide the bar.
We set no first-party cookie of our own. Mail you send to [email protected] is processed so we can reply; we keep that correspondence while the thread is open and delete it when the request is finished, unless a legal claim requires a copy.
Your rights, personalised-ad opt-outs and changes
You can ask for a copy of mail we hold about you, a correction, or deletion, by emailing [email protected]. You can clear pokelit_consent and pokelit-ad-bar-closed yourself in your browser, and you can withdraw the advertising and analytics choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. For data Adsterra itself collected, use https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/.
To limit interest-based advertising in your browser generally, use Google Ad Settings (https://adssettings.google.com), the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (https://optout.aboutads.info), the NAI opt-out (https://optout.networkadvertising.org) and Your Online Choices (https://www.youronlinechoices.com). Rejecting in our banner is the direct opt-out on this site, because it removes the ad loaders instead of only switching them to non-personalised mode.
We will change this page when the script list changes and will update the checked date. The date on this version is 4 Nov 2026.

Questions
Do you load ads and analytics before I click Accept?
Yes. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and the two Adsterra units load on the first page view, and the banner tells you so. Pressing Reject turns them off on this page and on later page views for 180 days. Accept keeps them on. Global Privacy Control is treated as Reject.
How do I change my choice?
Use Cookie settings in the footer. Reject stores “rejected” for 180 days and removes the Adsterra loaders; Accept stores “accepted”. You can also clear this site’s storage in your browser.
Which cookies does this site set itself?
None. The site writes two local-storage keys, pokelit_consent and pokelit-ad-bar-closed, and no first-party cookie of its own. Google Analytics, Clarity and Adsterra set their own cookies as described below.
